I think it depends on what kind of terrain you are going to be hunting in. Is it open fields or heavily wooded? You asked a question but, I feel more information should be stated about the areas you plan hunting in.

On the second post i gave a little more information. I primarily still hunt. I'll probably start the day off on or near a field edge for the first hour then start moving. Lots of thick stuff, but also lots of right-of-ways and power lines that I will cross or hunt along.

Distance really isn't a concern. I only hunt to whatever my capabilities with that rifle are. There are several places I'll be with opportunities for long (400 yards for me.) Shots. But I'm fine being limited by a shorter range . That's part of using different rifles.

I'll also change my approach slightly depending on the rifle I carry. For example if one of the '06's or .270 I'll likely stay out near the edges of power lines more since I'll have the ability to shoot those ranges. If the .375 or .300 Savage I'll stay more in the woods and thick stuff.

Had the 760 and 700 out yesterday. Put 20 rds through each .Both are ready to go.

I'll have the .375win out on Sunday afternoon probably.

Getting close!

Looks like a tie. So I'll carry them half day each.

Hopefully one of them gets used .I'll use the .30-06 in the morning and hunt some powerlines where longer shots are possible and then the .375 in the afternoon when I move into some thicker stuff.
