How often do yall call while hunting?
 

I know it varies with what type of call(Social Contact, Doe Estrus, Tending Grunt,...) but ive heard various opinions. And which calls do yall find most effective? I have noticed that the Social Contact call of a doe has been the most effective during the rut or anytime. Im interested in what yall do?

Use A-WAYS social call works great for me.
Blow a few times and wait about 15mins and
try it again!:)

As far as the type of call, I completely agree with what you said. I have found that one to bring me great results. I' ve tried many others without success.

I usually call about every 30-45 minutes. I only call two or three times (soflty) and then tuck it away. On especially quiet days, I will call less. On fairly noisy days (wind, rain, etc.), I' ll call more often.

I am not one to blind call except when rattling, then I use grunts(contact, tneding and challenge) and time it with my rattling sequences about every 20-30 minutes.

All other times I produce calls is when iIhave a visual on deer, then I vary the response I use, but mostly contact grunts.

I have used a combination of tending, and " locating" grunts, varied every 5 to 10 minutes. I use verbal grunts (no tubes cans or such, just my voice) and vary the pitch, length, and tone alot easier, and with greater success. All these I use while stalking, not in a stand or blind. in those situations I am less frequent with my calling.

dont grunt or call while stalking you just bring attention to your position, stalk as quietly as possible

I forgot to mention that I stop and call, then wait for 5 to 7 minutes b4 moving. If I hear activity, I freeze and continue to call a little more often. I know our regular areas like my shadow, and generally stalk to an area where I know the buck' s beds/feeding areas are.
