When i was younger I kind of held my deer rifles to the standards of all my other rifles, mainly it had to be moa or better but Ive since grown to realise this isnt a priority for me. I can see if you are hunting out west and taking longer shots ethically you might demand something more but really on a deer size creature something thats pie plate accurate at the furthest distance you shoot (for me that would be about 200 yards) is really all you need.

Accuracy, skills, and knowing what you have to work with has NEVER in history of hunting, since killing them with rocks and spears, been over emphasized in hunting.
It is not hard to sort out the guys with lame weapons and lame skills. They carry around a lot of pie plates.
How accurate does your rifle NEED to be? That depends on the quality of the hunter holding it, though you can't buy a rifle accurate ENOUGH to make for a lot of low skill lame hunters. Thankfully for them, there is corn.
