yes, go to a good shop that has a LARGE selection of bow and go shoot as many as you can, find one that fits you well and shoot well and BUY it, there are NO bad bows made today from any of the brand name makers!
but a poor fitting bow, you will never be happy with no matter the Marketing hype behind it!

^^ WHAT mrbb SAID ^^. Sure you will pay more than a private sale or Ebay. Unless you are fluent in bow setup and have a bow press, any quality now pro shop is worth their cost. If possible, visit more than one. They will (should) make sure you are satisfied with your purchase and the bow/arrows are set up properly before you leave. Will likely throw in range hours for use after the purchase.

As previously stated I would go make sure to test out the top bows to see what you like best. We can go back and forth all day but it really boils down to what feels best to you. Personally, I wouldn't look past buying a bow from craigslist. You can find last years $1000 bow on craigslist for hundreds less with some accessories if you look around. Bows don't hold their value like guns that's for sure. Good luck in your choice!
