Mule Deer Photos From Yesterday
I spotted this mule deer while I was out calling coyotes yesterday. I was able to get a few photos of him. He is a pretty decent buck.

I love the pics.
He sure has a lot of meat, and a ncie wide rack. Thanks for sharing. Makes me think of taking my camera along on my hunts. Did you use a zoom lens, or were you really as close as these make it look? Keep 'em all in the Bull. |
RE: Mule Deer Photos From Yesterday

I use an Olympus C-2100UZ digital camera to take my photos. It has a 10X zoom lens on it which is equal to a 380mm lens on a 35mm camera. I have also recently bought a 1.7X teleconverter which will boost it to a 17X lens or 646mm. These photos were taken from about 80 yards. To get a decent photo I still have tobe within 100 yards. Greets,
If thats a "pretty decent buck" I want to hunt in your area, thats bigger than the biggest to come out of the area I hunt that I know of in the last three years! (including the 2 monsters my pard and I got 2 years ago ) Very very fine buck there, Just my uneducated opinion! Terry |
RE: Mule Deer Photos From Yesterday

RE: Mule Deer Photos From Yesterday
You're right--he's a "pretty nice" buck!!!!
Wow--when do muleys drop their racks? same as whitetails? Also, does your area have a mixture of muleys/whitetails? Bob |

We do have a mix of mulies and whitetails here. We have better quality mule deer than whitetail though. The quality of the whitetails gets better as you go north. The whitetails around here are just starting to drop their antlers. I saw a dozen whitetail bucks on Friday and all had both sides except two and those two were still sporting a single side. The Mule deer here will drop somewhat later. They are usually done around here by the middle of March but I have seen them with antlers into early April. The harder the winter the earlier they will drop but so far this year it has been quite easy. Cam's Hunting Page ![]() |

RE: Mule Deer Photos From Yesterday
Nice Pics, Saskman.
There are no Mulies here in Ontario but lots of Whitetail. I got a nice double (Doe & 9 pt Buck) this fall, but the pics didn't turn out. Got a digital cam at Christmas and hope to fix that problem. I just have to get another Double Header again!! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> |
