Tripods

Do any of you hunt out of a tripod stand? I have a spot where thee are no trees big enough for a tree stand, but want to get up off the ground, so I am thinking about buying a tripod to put up in this spot. Looking for suggestions on which one to look at. I am not a big fan of heights, so not looking to get real high. was thinking around 13'.

I have two.
The real tripod only has a circular foot rail so I added a foot rest. Little difficult for an old man to get his buTt in the seat. Once IN, it it is comfortable. SWIVEL SEAT.
My other tripod stand has an enclosure, a shooting rail all around it, a better foot platform, also a swivel seat, and I like it better. But its a pain to set up.
Ill pop in pictures once im at a pc

I have one of the Ameristep Octagon tripods but I have never set it up. It appears to be a decent tripod, I A couple of years ago it was a Wally World after deer season sale item for $100 if I remember right. Not much help here except they can be had fairly reasonable after season.

Thanks! I have looked into this stand, and I really like the looks of it. Its on sale now for $168, I will wait for a while, and see if it goes down in price.

I would expect to pay more then $100 for them now. I bought mine from a guy that heard that Wally World had them on clearance so he bought several of them and sold me one of them. He did not say what he paid for it and I didn't ask. I just read the info on the box, it is made out of steel with a 300 lb. weight capacity. It is 15 feet tall at the shooting rail. The seat is padded and swivels over a 42in.X42in. foot platform. It has a ladder, not those foot pegs that stick out. There is a skirt that hangs down from the shooting rail to hide behind but your head and shoulders will still be visible. It appears to be a good tripod stand, I need to get it up before next deer season.
