Lawsuits for defective guns
Found this a few minutes ago. A new member is stating that you should avoid all Remingtons because of a lawsuit. Well, here are some more you should avoid if that is the only criteria we look at when determining which gun to buy:

big difference between lawsuit and notice/recall
I have Remington guns and love them, but, the issue was a "defective" trigger" that would fire when the butt of the gun was bumped, the lawsuit revolves around some sort of internal memo from Remington that acknowledged the safety aspect, but chose to do nothing about it due to recall costing to much. I had one of the guns in the "grouping" that was an issue. I never had any issue with it. |
The Remington thing is old news, years old news. Why people keep dragging it out as thought it is a new revelation is beyond me. How many autos have had recalls? firearms sometimes do as well and so do other mechanical contraptions. People are not perfect and they do not always make a perfect product. Yes that Remington trigger was a concern and if I would have owned one of those rifles I would allowed them to fix it. My problem was Remington's first response to the problem after they were mad aware of it. There is also culpability on the people who had accidental discharges and shot someone because they were not using the common sense 1st rule of handling firearms, "always point your gun in a safe direction".

Send the offending tool to me. I will make use of it, in a safe and reasonable manner. |
