Score Guess (Pics)
4 Attachment(s)
Here are a few angles. Watched this buck for 4 years. He was an 8 the first year, an 8 the second, a 10 pointer last year and a 9 this year. I think he's 5.5yo.
My guess is 138"
150 ish , nice looking buck, best of j=luck getting a tape to him and letting us know what eh really scores !
We talking gross or net? Y guesses are all gross. :)
Having tons of pics of him over the last 4 years, I would say these pics may not do him justice. I've seen him in person spotting as well. The lowest I can come, with rounding down and conservative guesses would be 151 gross. MB - 26, MB -26 G1 - 4, G1 - 3 G2 - 11, G2 - 10 G3 - 9. G3 - 8 G4 - 0, G4 - 2 H1 - 4.5, H1 - 4.5 H2 - 4, H2 - 4 H3 - 3.5, H3 - 3.5 H4 - 3, H4 - 3 And 22 inch inside spread. Although, I think his mainbeams might be more like 27 inches, G2s are more like 12-13 on the left side and the mass be be an inch better on each side. Gauging his ear spread over hundreds of pics, I think he's got an outside of 26 inches, so 23.5 for spread credit is what I'm thinking. My guess would be 150 at the lowest and 162 at the highest. Probably end up somewhere in the middle. These are gross scores. |
yeah some where in the mid 150's I think is about right!
I would need permission to come take a closer look to be sure. ;)

I feel your pain lol. I have one I have been after for 3 years. Not a single daytime pic and another that I have only one daylight pic while I was at work lol. They gotta slip up one day hopefully
They eventually slip up for my neighbor. Two brothers. Between the two of them, they have taken my target buck several years now. They don't bow hunt either. Just rifle. And they only still hunt. Never sit in a stand at all. Just walk around all day. Don't know how they do it.
Looks like to me about 145
Tricky to estimate sometimes. If you are an inch off on each tine, a 9-pointer could be +/- 9 inches. Miss the mass measurements by 1/2 inch and you're off by another 4 inches. 13 inch swing and only being off by only 1/2 to an inch per point. And each angle makes a point look a different length.
Get him on the ground and then we'll all know Scott...:D
rest assured unless he's a 240# buck, he ain't 22" inside, right side tine length is weak, mass ain't that good, gonna go with 140-142 net, tops

I have two bucks in the wall that were 21 inch spread and he is way wider than them. Figure 16 inch ear-tip span and he's way past the ear tips on both sides.
He's not rutted out now, but he is a pretty big deer. I'd say he's go 225 live weight with ease in a month. |
I can't ever tell from pics. Never could. Dad had a little talent for it but I just never could get it right. Now from binoculars or a scope I'm fairly accurate but I guess my cognitive center just cant figure it out from just a 2 dimensional image. Nice little deer though.
I don't do much score guessing really. Its pretty tough to guess scores from pictures of deer from totally different regions than I'm used to but he is a mature deer and certainly a shooter. I wouldn't even worry about the score.
Ive got one that is very similar and I don't really care what he scores. Like lugnut he has the wow factor with the width but his antler score probably won't do him justice. |

Adding a couple pictures that show his spread in relation to his ears.
Assuming his ears are 16 I'd say his inside spread is 22.5
That seems pretty close. After years of trail cam pics and seeing him spotting, and even once in our backyard, we all agree that he is 26 inches outside. That would put him somewhere around 23 inside.....so 22.5 is a pretty good guess.
Now I have to get him. I gotta know. :D |
