One of his findings was that in the first 6 months after fawns are born, coyotes kill 45% of them. Then we have the cats killing one adult deer a week. We have thousands of cats here. Plus, hard winters kill who knows how many? Plus, hunters. Deer have a tough life. |
MH, I don't recall how many fawns the bears and cats get, but it was a lower number than the coyotes got.
That mountain range has a good number of both bears and lions. |
