RE: have you had luck over scrapes

I have personally never had any luck hunting a scrape, but I haven' t tried the 70 yard downwind approach either. Always good to learn;)

The only scrapes I have had success over where very, very close to bedding areas. I have spent many a boring hour over open woods scrape lines[:' (]

Hot scapes in or around the beds are the only ones I even look at anymore:)

Thanks for the replies, this particular scrape is within 20 yards of a bedding area and there are trails everywhere. Like what many of you said, I' m sure the scrape is used for the majority at night, but I also believe it is being hit in the morning and midday, as the bucks head back to their beds. I think there are a few bucks using it. It looks like I' ll get the south wind I was hoping for. Hopefully, I' ll get a crack at one! I' ll be sure to post the story Monday Morning!

With all the rain in the forcast, there is one more tactic to consider. Following an extended rain, bucks hit the trail and refreshen their primary scrapes. If this break in the weather coinsides with an chance for you to sit on one of these primary scrapes, you have a good chance to connect. Tony:D
