I was pondering this a few days ago.
That this winter has been so warm. But, thinking back over the last almost 40 years. And I can remember several winters that were like this. About every 10 to 12 years we have a string of odd winters.
Usually preceded by warm dry summers, and then we get hit with winters like 96-97 in MN.
Or like winter of 14-15 were Lake Superior wasn't declared ice free until June 7th. And we had massive wildlife die off, due to heavy snow and sever cold.
Or the Halloween Blizzard of 91, that dumped 2 feet of snow on most of central MN. I was 13 that year.
SO far this winter I have seen over 100 deer in less than 20 miles of driving. On one day in January when it was about 38-40 deg. out the sun was shining and the deer were having a field day. This weekend were are estimated to get up to 18 inches of snow on Friday and Sat. Here in Northwest WI. I hope so, we could use the moisture. But I also know that winter isn't over just yet. We aren't even into March yet.
