Hunting near Scott AFB help

I am moving to Illinois in May. I am just trying to get some information on some hunting places near that I could look into. Thank you for the information.

There is not much at all of public property near there. Carlyle Lake and Rend Lake have public property. Both are half hour plus drive away.

If you don't mind traveling a couple hours and making a weekend out of it check out Ray norbut 1 and 2

2 is fairly new.

Also check out the river islands and Pere Marquette State Park

Have you looked into hunting on the base? I saw they archery hunts with limited permits.
