Default Number 90

Yesterday was the opening of the firearm deer season in East TX. I know a guy that wanted to thin the does on his place over by Paris, TX so I spent yesterday on his place. This lady decided to show up for the dance about 2 hrs before sunset. It isn't every day you get to take your 90th deer.

Range was about 170 yards. I had hoped to do the trigger work with a T/C Contender in 7mm TCU but I have a self imposed range limit of 50 yards with a handgun. So I used a CZ 500 American in 9.3x62 Mauser firing a factory loaded 286 gr bullet. She didn't go far. She is pieced down on ice in the coolers and with the exception of the backstraps and tenderloins will meet the grinder for sausage later today.

in 3 weeks I head to my native CO to meet a mulie doe. Life is good.

Perfect eating size flags. Should be both tender and tasty.
