Just curious. Why a head shot? It is a very small target... I took a doe today that walk literally 10 yds rom my blind and I shot just behind the shoulder. If I tried a head shot I would have to compensate for the 2 inches above plane that my scope sits. I would never remember to do that.

Because that's how I do it. Don't waste meat. I've shot 15 deer now and 13 are headshots. Never shot a jaw off or anything. Every deer I've shot with a headshot has died peacefully with no pain. My permanent house stand sits on my food plot and only is up 6 feet so it's a very easy shot and all my shots are within 15 yards. My scope and muzzleloader are so on because I shoot often. The 2 deer that weren't headshots were bucks. I hit them in the vitals.

You need to put a "yet" at the end of that sentence. Because eventually you will blow a shot. What are you going to do then when one runs off with the jaw hanging? All it takes is a fly landing on a deer's nose causing it to toss it's head when you squeeze. That's why all very knowledgeable hunters don't take headshots. But hey what do I know? I just shot deer #90 on Sat.

That won't stop me. If it's close enough and a high percentage shot it's going for the head. 100% success rate so far.

Nice Harvest. I don't think I could pull it off. Even with does, my heart beats so hard it makes my arms shake.
