I got a job..

Ive been searching for a job for while and I got a call from mcdonalds last week for an interview. It went well. Anyways, the guy called me today and told me I had the job..orientation is on Monday. Deer season starts the following Monday. I hope my hours dont interfere with it. I usually go in on the Tuesday night (dad goes in sunday, but I cant miss a whole week of school) and stay till Saturday. This place (our camp) takes an hour ot get to so if I go in tuesday im staying till saturday (cant drive) The second week I go after school then on Saturday (last day of season) to a place 10 mins from here. It sucks cause im just getting the job now, so I cant switch my hours with other people..Would it be dumb when he asks when im able to start to tell him of my situation? Im thinking im just going to have to miss a few days this year..:(

You will always have to sacrifice hunting for work unless you get some Kick @$$ job with like 5 weeks of Vacation.

You should have a good 50-60 years left to go hunting, take care of the important things now. Not that hunting isn' t important. Good work habits now will help you get to the point in life that you can enjoy what' s important to you.

Well...you might need that job or at least the reference in the future if you change jobs. I know you love to hunt. We all do but unless you can live off the land you will need that job. Oh and by the way...I get 5 weeks vacations everyyear!!!:D Sorry![:' (]

Make the best of your new job and cherish those hunting opportunities when you get them.

I get 4 weeks of vacation, too. It' s a bummer though, I have to work 11 days in November.;):D

I get 4 weeks, but the honey-do list cancels out most of that. Work when you have to, hunt when you can, and post on the web when you have to work but can' t quit thinking about hunting!

It' s defiantely poor timing but at least it will put money in your pocket ! Maybe you will lose some hunting time this season but look ahead to next. By that time you' ll have been there a year and probably have some vacation time available to take a week or so off and go hunting.

By chance did you mention this to the person doing the interview ? I know in some cases they will change your start date if you have pre-arranged plans such as a vacation.

Since I am salary I have unlimited sick time plus the 5 weeks vacation. Does deer hunting count as sick time? I' m sick of working!!:D
