After visiting the Peak webite and seeing just what you said, the offer to donate $ to The Humane Society, I emailed Peak and swore off their products.

I wonder if they are doing this in response to somebody' s pet drinking Peak antifreeze and becoming sick or dead. Could be part of a law suit settlement.

I borrowed this post from another site that borrowed it from another... I searched several forums and found it already there, and posted it when I couldn' t find it. We need to be informed about the companies that try to keep us down or support those that do and do what we can to make a dent.

Spread the word!

Here' s an update to the antifreeze issue:
Antifreeze Producer Warms Up to Sportsmen Recent News
(Columbus) - A leading antifreeze producer, after receiving a flood of contacts from sportsmen for partnering with an anti-hunting organization, has ended the agreement.
In a letter to the U.S. Sportsmen' s Alliance, Old World Industries, Inc., the company that makes PEAK and SIERRA antifreezes, said that they " made a decision to sever our sponsorship with the American Humane Association (AHA)," an organization that opposes all hunting and trapping. Old World Industries had been running a rebate promotion that allowed consumers to donate their refund to the AHA. Sportsmen nationwide were furious about the sponsorship and flooded the company with phone calls, faxes and letters in opposition.

PEAK Product Manager Ed Powderly stated that the sponsorship was not intended " to alienate the hunting and outdoorsman community." He said Old World Industries was unaware of the stances AHA had taken against sportsmen' s rights.

The U.S. Sportsmen' s Alliance and other sportsmen' s groups, including the Southeast Michigan Bowhunters Chapter of Safari Club International, called outdoorsmen to take action and inform Old World Industries about the true agenda of the AHA.

U.S. Sportsmen' s Alliance President Bud Pidgeon said, " All sportsmen who were motivated to grassroots action to preserve their hunting heritage are to be applauded."

Sportsmen can thank Old World Industries, Inc. for listening to the common sense messages of sportsmen by writing Mr. James Bryan, President, Old World Industries, Inc., 4065 Commercial Ave., Northbrook, IL 60062. Phone: (847) 559-2000. Toll Free (800) 323-5440. Fax (847) 559-2266.

here is the response i got from an email i sent displaying my dispeasure with their alliance with AHA:

Dear Paul:

It has recently come to our attention that the hunting community is upset
about one of our company’s products, Sierra antifreeze, which has a
sponsorship with the American Humane Association (AHA). Our intention with
getting involved with the AHA several years ago, was to bring awareness to
families of pets and children about a safer antifreeze, Sierra, due to it’s
less toxic nature vs. conventional ethylene glycol based antifreeze. Every
year approximately 100,000 pets/animals die from ingesting conventional
antifreeze off of garage floors and driveways. The objective was awareness
of a safer solution to this, not to alienate the hunting and outdoorsman
community. Unknown to us, the AHA has apparently taken some active stances
against certain rights of hunters. Upon hearing this, we have made a
decision to sever our sponsorship with the AHA. Thank you for bringing
this to our attention and we hope you’ll continue to support Old World
Industries products like Sierra antifreeze and other PEAK performance
products.

Sincerely,
Sierra Antifreeze
