Screwed up for life
#41

30 years ago I met a woman who convinced me to marry her. I made the life-long foolish decision to get married...on November 5, the traditional deer opener in Texas.
Half my family couldn't make it (run leases and expected to be there for pre-opening dinner at the lease) and forget about anniversaries.
I love my wife almost as much as my truck and she's been understanding over the years but has anyone else screwed up like this?

JUNE is the traditional month for weddings, for a reason. No hunting seasons are in.
Son and daughter's birthdays are both in June as well.
Fail to plan is a plan to fail.

You just have to wait for the right woman. I got married for the first time when I was 60. She was a widow with no children.
I'm not sorry I waited but feel very lucky she accepted me.
We enjoy spending time together in my heated deer blind.
Here's a photo of her - hunting hard as you can see.

Wife and I just moved to WY, hunting was a big part of the reason, so far this year, freezer has 4 antelope (rifle) and 2 deer (bow). She has exactly 50% of those filled tags. Girl is deadly with bow and rifle and casts a mean fishing rod as well.
People change. She wasn't like this when we got married, just never exposed, actually she used to leave the room in our first apartment when I took out a gun to clean it. 5 year anniversary she bought me a new duck hunting gun. Now at 32+ years, she hunts, fishes, packs meat when needed, helps process it all and convinced me to move to WY!
Good ones are out there! Of both genders!
