Default Would You Fast-Forward Summer.....

....to get to hunting season? On sports talk radio, they were asking the question of fans, "would you fast forward summer to get to football season?". Got me thinking....Would you give up the rest of your summer to get to hunting season?

If I were a kid or had a job with the summer off, I would not want to FF. But, I work all year. So what's the difference between August and September? I think I could forego August. I'll take June and July for some summer fun. By August, I'm ready for the cooler weather and hunting up ahead. smile

I'd give up the entire summer to get to Fall earlier each year. I've got a month before I head west on 8/27 for over two months of hunting and it can't get here quick enough with this lousy heat and humidity we're having here right now.

I live on a large lake so summer is pretty sweet so no FF for me. At my age wishing away any time is not going to happen. We only get to come down to breakfast so many days and after mid life they are less numerous. Enjoy each one for what it is.

Hell no! I love hunting and am having fits waiting for Sept 30 to fly out for a deer/antelope hunt with my wife, but no way would I fast forward summer, pool time, cookouts, golf season.....

All months have fun stuff and I agree with CI, I ain't wishing away any of the time I have!

Not me! Even though I do not like the kind of heat we have been stuck in for almost a month, 90 degrees and hotter, I would not want to fast forward any season. Life is short, and the years go faster as each year passes. When we were kids time seemed to creep by, we thought the school year would never end. A date we were looking forward to seemed like it would never get here. I love hunting season as much as the next guy, fall has always been my favorite time of the year however, fast forward time, nah not for me, it goes by too fast already!

OK, I don't mean that you would literally give up 30 days of your life here on earth. Just that you would just as soon be in hunting season and the fall than be in August,.

Very good but tough question. I will side w/waiting because that only increases my determination when the season does arrive. I have been counting the days!

Here in Vermont I'll start with the brutally long winter since that starts on January 1st for arguments sake. January 1 brings the new year and normally we are well into the winter ice fishing season. One of my most favorite seasons. Something about fishing hard water really pleases me and the fish bite like crazy. Cold and windy..sure but I am a tough old Vermonter who is used to it and I always have the best foul weather gear I can buy. Nothing quite like ice fishing on Champlain when I can take my wheeler out of the garage loaded with all my gear and catch 100 pounds of fish right in front of the house and still be able to go in for a hot coffee and to check HNI. LOL. Spring brings out the boats ...I have 6 in all different configurations and the bite in the shallows for spawning fish is normally something well above great. Summer is great weather on the warm side and I normally fish at least every morning unless the wind is up. Fall is great for fishing since they all load up on the feed and big time catches are the norm. Then comes fall with small game first and followed here in this state by deer bow season, rifle then ML. There is normally a week or so between the end of late ML and the start of ice fishing. What not to like for someone who enjoys all of it.
