Deer scent when to use?????
 

When using deer scent like for example Doe-in-Rut buck lure do you just use it the minute you are there hunting or can you spread it around when just out in the woods scouting. Like just leave the scent at a certain location you want to hunt for a couple days before you actually hunt?

This I would think has bad ideas,but I would like to hear it from you guy' s.

There are many ways to use estrous scents , and the timing can be very important . I like to hang drippers about a week before hunting an area , but when the rut is in full swing I' ll use the scent when I set up in case a cruising buck may be around .

I' m a firm beliver in Tink' s #69 but only when the time is right usually here in WV I use it from the 2nd week of November until the end of the rut.

I' m not sure what they are called but the little orange plastic bottles that Tink' s makes work really good. They have a wick in them and after the hunt you just push the wick back down and put the lid on and they are ready for the next hunt.

I' ve never had a lot of luck with attractents. I tend to use only cover scents. Just my experience but I do have some hunting partners who swear by them.

As stated timeing is everything. They use tinks 69 or code blue.

To be honest, I have used scents alot for as long as I have hunted, until the last two seasons, and you know what..............my sightings per hour on stand have SKYROCKETED!! I will continue to save my money and hunt scent free, could be coincidence but I' m leaving the scents and sparingly using the calls.
