Not accurate for N.WI. Two years back, I would put the population in our area at about 5-15 per square mile after years of nearly unlimited doe tags given out. Now, the DNR has gone the other direction - not a single doe tag two years in a row now. A happy medium of limited tags would be nice.

I found this. It doesn't have all states, but it does show estimated 2014 populations for the top 20 whitetail states according to NAW.
