I bought a Ruger M-77 in 1980, caliber is .243, it's the only centerfire I own...Funny, nobody else has ever "claimed" my deer either, it drops them on the spot when I want it to...
It's killed a couple hundred deer so I doubt if I replace it anytime soon...But my real passion is flintlocks, I give talks on the American Revolution so I also use a .54 flintlock that I built in the '80s...

I like rifles and have a 30 gun safe full and a few stashed in the ceiling joists here and there. Of course they are not all rifles either.
My first AND I still own it and use it is a Model 94 30-30
In 1970 I wanted some thing better to hunt moose with and got a Winchester Model 100 in 308 and came to dis like it being a auto loader then fear of it made me trade it off. It got replaces with a Remington 700 BDL in 243 I let a gun dealer talk me into ( Thank you very much Ray) which I came to love and use a lot.
In 1972 I once again wanted some thing for a moose hunt so ordered a Remington 700 BDL in 308.
My beloved wife over heard part of a discuttion I was having with my hunting partner so bought me a Remington 700 mountain rifle in 7mm08. I had really wanted a model 7 in 7mm08 I use it when I am hunting the beach or for shooting across cranberry bogs.
Model 7 Remington 7mm08, I use this one down in the cedar swamp so thick you some times have to about crawl to get thru.
I wanted a Remington 700 ML since I have came to like the Remington center fires I have so much. A 54 cal is all I could find at the time but later on I got a 50 cal.
Before my dad passed away he gave me his deer rifle I bought for him on his 61st birthday. It is a Ruger 77 tang safety in 243.
Yes I have shot a deer with every one of these rifles. Some like the 243 and 308 Model 700 and the model 94 30-30 have harvested at least 10 bucks each for me.
And I am not finished yet showing my deer rifles.
