Aww, such a waste of a good kill. Did you claim one of them anyway?

Nature has no fairness and deer have it tough. The arrow or gunshot can be merciful by comparison.

Why would anyone want to "claim" one of those deer if they didn't legally shoot it, just for the antlers? From the looks of them, they have been dead for a while.

I would wack the antlers and sell them. I would not tag it as it is legal to salvage them here. nor would I claim I killed them but I would pick them up. do it all the time. once I had a 7x7 winter killed bull elk I found, mounted, and I KEPT IT and it hangs on my wall to this day. all other sheds and winter kills ,I've found ,I have sold.

cool find ,onion, thanks for posting.

Not in the state I live in, you can p/u sheds but if they are still attached it is illegal to take them. Actually, I like it that way.

well, to each their own ,I guess.here it is legal , if they died of natural causes, if gunshot ,no.

it is also legal to salvage roadkill ,if one were of a mind to do so.
