that goes for winter kills and even if one jumps in front of your car an you kill em. here you can even salvage the meat if it is possible to do so. I understand the whole curtail the poacher aspect, just find it as silly as gun laws.

Yeah I also compare it to the gun laws many would like to have.

Myself if I find a dead buck on my own land I'm taking it and I'll fight any consequences of it all the way.

I keep almost every shed/dead head I find. I had a small conversation about it with a CO one afternoon. The only time we're not allowed to take the antlers is if the animal still has usable meat on it. Then we have to get a possession permit. And of course if the meat is still good then that's a bonus.
