I got to punch a tag(figure of speech in todays modern world) yesterday for an archery quota hunt I was drawn for. A big ol' mature slick head at about 12 yards.
I am still using the old Bear ss razors with the replaceable bleeder blades. I stuck her with one of the early styles that was the soldered and painted ones they made. I bet it was forty years old if it was a day... I say "was" cause she broke the arrow off about four inces from the broad head and I never could find it.
She was quartering slightly towards me and the arrow broke her front leg and went through the heart. She ran like a banshee for about 100 yards and that was it.

I didn't see another deer with her but she was plumb full of milk.
I am allowed two deer with my permit so I think I'm gonna head back out to the oak flat in a bit on and wait for jr. to show up.

Backstrap! It's what's for dinner! I hope to tag a couple does in CO next month.

Nice job. I passed a few up yesterday hoping a buck would follow them in, kinda wishing I hadn't today.
