Default Time to make some gambrels

I have 29 pieces of rebar. 1/2" X 20" long. Nothing to do with them so thought I could make some heavy duty gambrels.

I did my math and if I cut them to 15-1/2" each that will leave me 4-1/2" cut offs. I can heat and bend hooks on the ends of two pieces and weld them at about a 30-degree angle and weld a straight
15-1/2" brace across a few inches up from bottom. Then weld a
4-1/2" piece across the top to form a "V" for the rope to go through.

First I'll wire wheel the mill scale off, then cut to length, heat and bend and then weld. I'm thinking of camo dipping these, maybe blaze orange camo.

Hopefully I'll wind up with 9 of them.

Here's my paper mock up. " />

That looks good. I bet I made 10 or more one year out of 1/2 sq solid stock.
I gave one to about anybody that wanted one. I still use the two I kept.

edited to say:
I bent both hooks and the top angled break where the lifting hook sets out of a single piece. I just had three pieces all together.
