Any other WI hunters glad the baiting ban is gone?
I for one am glad the ban has been repealed. So many people think that baiting is wrong and that it takes the fun out of hunting. It helps bring in the deer, but it can be hard. you have to scout and find the perfect place to put the bait. just because you have bait out isn' t a gauruntee that you will see deer, let alone a shooter buck. Any thoughts?

I couldn' t believe it when they said we could start baiting down here and wasn' t sure how I felt about it. But our deer population has increased ever since. I feed around a ton of corn a year, I keep it out all year long. The wisdom being that the deer benefit more from the added food than the few it helps to bag. It helps the overall health of the heard.

you have to remember that that in studies they believe that baiting deer has a great influence on CWD passing it from deer to deer.. which of course in NOT beneficial.. becareful of what you do because it can have a very negative response

The studies may say that, but up in northern wisconsin, the only deer that have been found with CWD are those in deer farms, and when one is found with it, then the whole farm herd is destroyed.
