I looked for Sheds today

I guess it's a little early... or at least I did'nt see any. I seen 3 Turky's, about a 1/4 mile from where I seen 6 awhile back. They were in a cattle field his time. I seEn 100 Cattle. Before they were in a clearcut... a real brushy area!

I have been out hunting and have seen 2 big bucks and neither had dropped antlers yet. It was nice to see a couple big ones still around!

There seems to be a wide variation as to when they drop em.(here in Pa at least) I shot a monster of a doe several years back on the last day of doe season only to discover that my "doe" had empty bases in her head that were almost 1 1/4 inches across. The deer seemed to be in fine health too so who knows why he dropped so early. I have buck near my house that have dropped their horns, and others that havent.
I think in general, late Feb thru march would be the best times to shed hunt since all buck should have dropped their antlers by then.

Around February on top of the mountain in Sullivan County, PA. I've seen them shed in mid-December and one deer had an antler still in Spring gobbler season. That's the first week of May. Usually it's in February, though.
