are these hot spots

I found some rubs the other day. I dont know which way he is going to be comeing from. Some told me that he will come the opposite direction the rubs are facing. Also in this same area is a load of scrapes.
I found other area is my woods which i just found one rub. I am sure there are others around. No scrapes were found at this time.

If you only found one rub in the area it' s no big deal. A buck is still using the area for regular travel most likely. Rubs can be a quarter mile apart. You are correct about the direction of travel acording to the rub. You can also look at the scrapes and see which direction the buck is moving also. Remember, the buck makes the scrape in the same direction that he is traveling. Look at the hoof prints in the scrape and the back of the scrape will most likely have a small amount of dirt piled up. Good luck!! -- CDH
