I got the buck I was after in Nov but he had busted off the point that made me want him!!! Killed him 24 hours after he got in the fight that broke him up....... Was sad when he walked out busted but still took him as that was the deer I had hunted all season for........

Beautiful animal.....don't give up looking for the broken tine.. Who knows what else you might find when you're looking? Plus, looking sure beats sitting home...

I killed a double drop tine buck in November and one of the drop tines broke off when he fell (in a bunch of fireweeds with about 8 inches of snow on the ground). I had to go back a couple of times to look, but I finally found it. It had flown off quite a ways from where he had fallen. Of course, I knew exactly where to look... but it still took a lot of searching.

Wow, that is a stud for sure! Congrats!

At least you have an idea of where you could look. Good luck, hope you find it. I guess worst case if you don't find it - you could have a taxidermist recreate the tine (if you wanted). Since you have pics, it would be fairly easy to do.
