I think he would score around 120. He is a nice buck but an 8 pt will have to have more mass to go over 130. A 130 8 pt usually looks bigger than a 140-150 10 pt. he is probably 4 years old. He is still a nice buck.

Hopefully, you will get him on camera next year, and can share the image with us. I would find it interesting to see his antlers in 2015.

those calling the buck in the 130's, 140's, and even a 150
compare the 2 pics, the top buck scores 126, horns are about equal except the top buck has a wider spread and more mass.
you figure the top buck has 2" more spread, at least 4" more on main beam length, and possibly 2" on mass, your looking at approx. 118" in the bottom pic.

Wouldn't body size factor in to the appearance of the rack size? Not sure what your deer weighs but just thinking a WV deer wouldn't be an accurate comparison to a Kansas deer based on the fact that i have always heard Kansas deer are heavy compared to the same age WV deer. Its all just my opinion but no way do I believe that second deer is only 118 inches. Guess I never will know

top buck may or may not be a wv deer, pulled it off the net cause it was a pic of approx. the same angle and was basicly the same shape of rack and an 8 point, and it has a known score of 126, bottom buck is from ok, not ks. believe what you wish. My hunting buddy killed an 8 pt. this past season, a bit weak in the brows but scored 143, the buck had 26" mainbeams, and 22.5" inside spread. it takes an exceptional 8 to score 140.
here is a link to some bucks that either barely made 125" P&Y min. or barely did not, look at the 130's and 140's in there

I know what it takes for 8 point to make 140's. I have a 142" 8 point on the wall(gross). And from the first and third picture of the original poster they are similar other than lacking some mass and some brow length.

This is a 144 inch 8 point rack on a mature 250lb+ animal for some reference.

If you know what it takes for an 8 pointer to make 140s and are guessing the OP buck at 135-140, please post a picture of your 142" buck! This thread is exactly why I don't like to see people asking for scores because it's obvious with the wide discrepancy of "guesses" that a lot of people making them haven't killed and/or scored enough deer to know what they're talking about. Very few 8 pointers will go into the 140s and a 150" one is very few and far between. RR is in the ballpark on the OP buck and IMHO anyone that says it goes over 120" needs to get the B&C scoring sheet out and learn how they're measured!
