low light deer peep

Hi,
I had a buck come in on me this morning right as it started to get light. I've played this game before and knew I would most likely not be able to make out a good target on the deer through my peep. So I drew back and confirmed that I couldn't see to make a good shot. sucks.

If I were using a gun with a scope, and especially shooting glasses, then I would easily have been able to make out the sweet spot.
do they make peeps with amber lens that make the most of daylight? I shoot one eye open, can't shoot with two open.

thanks.

What are your legal shooting hours ?? Where I am, what you describe is poaching. Legal sunrise to legal sunset. Today, that is 7am to 4:30pm, give or take a few minutes.

In minnesota legal shooting is 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset. Can be pretty dark on overcast days.

Michigan is half hour before sun rise and half hour after sun set. That time changes daily and You have no excuse if caught poaching. Each day is listed in the rules book.

Just drill the apature bigger in the peep.

I use the Williams twilight aperture in my Williams sight, it's very impressive in low light. I've taken quite a few hogs in low light conditions with this sight.

I had this problem and just got the same peep in a bigger size and it made a big difference.
