Hi all I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. But I bought a savage model 111 in 30.06 and bought the federal fusion ammo for it. This gun does not like it at all. It's not accurate for me. I love the federal line of ammo so I was thinking of trying the power shok. But since it's the same brand do you think my gun won't like it either or is it completely different all together. Thanks

Just buy a box of Remington cor-loct 150 grn and I suspet you will have no problems.

The power shok is a different bullet so it will perform differently.

My vanguard s2 3006 shoots sub moa with 150 gr. power shok, but with the fusions and Hornady interlock , not so good.
It could be the soft point boat tail and different powder they use.

So far the power shoks and sciroccos in the same weight do good.
Something I noticed is that the fusions and Hornady ammo when fired causes the rifle to recoil to the left.
The ammo that does good in the rifle recoils straight back.

I know nothing about the science of ammo it's just something I've noticed.

Nosler factory ammo shoots real good in my son's 708 , 140 or 120 gr. it didn't matter.
My guess is, if use soft points, stick with flat base bullets.
Cor lokts power points power shoks .

Thanks for the reply I think I'm going to try the winchester power points and I have a few core lokt from remington I can try as well from my buddy's gun then figure it out from there thanks a bunch

Different guns like different loads, you're on the right path by trying other ammo to see what it likes. I have guns that shoot only one or two factory loads acceptable, and others that will shoot most any factory ammo I've tried in them. Some will also shoot (for example) 150gr of the same ammo good, but not 180gr. If you keep having trouble, try a different grain of bullet in it.

I tried the fusions in the 25 06. I wasn't impressed with them at all. I'll stick to the Speer 120 grain.

In contrast, I have a 25/06 that shoots 120gr fusions extremely well...best accuracy of any factory ammo I've tried in it. Fusion bullets are made in the same building as the Speer, but powder, amount of powder, etc. all comes into play.

Once you find out what to feed it you will be fine... It seems like every rifle likes a diff brand of ammo...

my son shoots a SAVAGE Y11 in .243 and it really likes the federal 95gr fusions it also shoots the Winchester 95gr ballistic silver tips very well..
