Ammunition for his rifle or shotgun would be useful. Hunting clothing is almost always appreciated by new hunters.

Look at some of the large online retailers like Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops.

If you aren't sure, a gift certificate. It's the thought that counts, but it makes no sense to spend $100 on something that won't be used.
