They knew he'd show up eventually, they just got the jump on him this time. I wouldn't worry about the deer, you're cooking the meat, won't have any problems. There are people who say don't use any water to rinse meat as water helps bacteria to grow. But I wouldn't waste much time worrying about it. Enjoy your venison!

everytime a newb gutshoots one, if possible it is tossed in the creek and sloshed around, think there ain't bacteria in the intestinal track of deer? ya ain't eatin it raw
