New to the forum
Hello everyone. I'm Jake, new to the forum but not new to internet hunting forums. Any how I'm from the CenLa area and hunt in Claiborne county Mississippi.
I am hoping to get some knowledge and share what little bit I know as well. First question, in what area do I ask for recommendations of outfitters. I'm looking for a affordable family hunt in Tx or Ok and I want to be sure I'm not that new guy posting in the wrong area. Thanks! *** CenLa being central Louisiana |
Try Jim Jacobs in Dumont, Tx. His prices are reasonable, 100% fair chase, and he does not misrepresent what he has roaming around on the properties. I ahve hunted with him 4 times. Camp is a comfortable double-wide with plenty of space for a family. If I recall correctly, he no longer includes meals in his pricing. The camp has a modern kitchen. Dumont is in the moddle of nowhere so you'll have to bring in whatever you need or be ready to drive 40 miles for supplies.
Do not hook up with Chip Indy. He did not represent what the had on the property nor was the info about what the fee covered truthful. A group of us hunted with him ne time. Deer were scarce. I saw no decent buck at all. Not sure if C.J. Ernst is still hosting hunts in Ft. McKavett, Tx (Sp). He has one heck of a great place to hunt. Small as Texas acreage goes. Fair chase and i took a 180 1/2 off of it several years back, |

Thanks for the info.
Is there a guide review/recommendation forum on here? If so point me in it's direction! |
