More Buck Pictures.
This one is a little wierd, looks like his rack grew that way, I don' t think its been broke off.
![]() Nice 8 point here. ![]() Another nice 8, could be the same deer as above. ![]() ![]() This is one of the best pictures I have gotten so far, I wish it would have showed a little more of the deer that this one in bowed up to. Note the little tag hanging down on his neck just below his jaw, I got a pic of him last week and thought it was a piece of grass or weed, but with it still being there it must be a piece of skin or possibly a thorn , look close and you can see some swelling around it. ![]() |
RE: More Buck Pictures.
Bucks ,bucks the only ones I have seen so far this year are the ones pictured on the board

RE: More Buck Pictures.
Very nice pics strut. That sure is an odd looking rack in that first picture. 3-4 years ago a guy at our camp shot a buck with 5 points on one side and a spike on the other. That' s how it grew, I' d like to know why that happens. Thanks for sharing the pics. I' d like to see that 8 point this weekend.

RE: More Buck Pictures.
Dang those are some pics strut, wish i was hunting that land!
|
RE: More Buck Pictures.
These things are already nocturnal,I have some pics of some slickheads and spikes during daylight hours but none of these are around in the light.
|
RE: More Buck Pictures.
that is my luck here too Strut. The big boys are only moving at night.
Kinda makes you wonder how somw of these big boys got killed by others. |
RE: More Buck Pictures.
Nice pictures, we are getting a lot of buck pictures on our lease, all at night and they are still in velvet.
Given the shot, I think I would cull the buck in the first picture. On my land about 5 years ago I got a good look at a mature buck before season with about 5 points on one side and a couple of points on the other. Since then I have culled two similar younger bucks in the same area hoping to help end that genetic link. |
RE: More Buck Pictures.
Yeah he needs to be taken out of the gene pool, maybe I' ll get a whack at him during bow season.

|
RE: More Buck Pictures.
Last season I saw a couple bucks with 5 points on one side and 2 spikes on the other. They need taken out of the gene pool. If I see one this year I will try.

RE: More Buck Pictures.
great pics strut! Thanks for sharing them.

RE: More Buck Pictures.
The buck in the first pic likely has had some sort of injury to his left side. Many times, a buck' s rack will not grow to full potential on the opposite side of an injured leg or waht have you.
Nice photos. Good luck dropping one of them. |
RE: More Buck Pictures.
Thanks for the pictures Strut. When does your bow season start and when does the rut kick in? Also, what kind of cam do you use. I recently bought a Stealth Cam from WalMart and have been very pleased with it. Those are some nice 8 points.
|
RE: More Buck Pictures.
Johnny our season started Oct 1, I have a hawkeye camera made by Game Country, It does OK most of the time, but it still messes with me every once in awhile.
The rut usually kicks in from mid to late Oct. Usually about the 3rd week of Oct is the best bowhunting. |
RE: More Buck Pictures.
what kind of trail cam do u use? nice pics and bucks, who_else
|
RE: More Buck Pictures.
Its one called the Hawk-Eye, made by Game Country. Most of the time it works pretty good but every once in awhile it will act up a little, seems like sometimes it will just quit for some reason, I can go back and re-program it them its alright.

RE: More Buck Pictures.
Thanks for the info. Strut. I recently purchased a Stealth Cam 35mm unit from WalMart and it has done me nothing but good. No complaints so far and it only cost me 65 bucks. I' ll probably invest into a digital camera in a year or so since they pretty much pay for themselves. If you get anymore pictures, post away.

RE: More Buck Pictures.
i was thinking the same thing as sweetwater, probably has an injury on his left side.
|
RE: More Buck Pictures.
