They are a little on the heavy side. I usually keep mine attached to the tree, and locked with a cable (I hunt on private land). It's a snap to just hop-in and climb. Because of the safety & comfort, to me, it's well worth the weight. I have a few other climbers that I have in other spots, but I have yet to find another stand like this one.
