Simple question

Got a simple debate with a buddy.

I say it is Chasing, Tending then Rut. Correct?

My buddy says it's Tending, Chasing then Rut.

Which one of us wins the case of beer?

Tell your buddy, they have to chase them before they can tend them. :busted:

How else can they tend something if they don't chatch any thing to tend. :barmy:

They chase the does because of the rut.

So it is Rut - Chase - Tend.

I may be wrong, but thats how I see it.

IMHO this is an hilarious, as well as an interesting question... Please define "chasing" "tending", and "the rut"???

No doubt many here have noticed that I talk about the rut in "phases" of the rut. Others have different interpretations, and that's all well and good.

This one may get very interesting:biggrin:

Thanks for a great question... I think you'll be splitting the case of beer!!!

[QUOTE]So it is Rut - Chase - Tend.[/QUOTE

Thus the split on the beer, that didn't take long:confused0024:

I think it goes:
Seeking
Chasing
Tending
The whole process ids the rut

Winner winner chicken dinner.

Seeking, pre rut
Chasing, pre rut to peak rut
Tending, peak rut to post rut.

Wingbone wins the prize!!! "Tending" is the term used for the actually mating of a buck and doe! "Seeking" goes on before and after does are coming in estrus, as a buck is always ready to breed once his antlers are hard. "Chasing" would not occur unless a doe is actually starting to come into estrus and is giving off enough scent to get a buck excited.
