Default My daughter takes her first deer.....

Was blessed to be able to spend some time with my daughter this deer season. After 2 weeks of seeing lots of deer she was able to take her first deer ever.

Very nice buck. Interesting "bladed" rack with that backwards pointing G-1. Congradulations.

Thanks eveyrone, I was as excited as she was. It was taken on our ranch here in South Central Texas. It was a nerve racking morning to say the least as the buck wouldn't stand still very long and would disappear into the brush and reappear. I agrees the antlers are a bit different and have some character, there is some trash on them that is not shown in the picture too. All in all it was a really nice experience for the both of us.

We just finished cutting, grinding, seasoning and stuffing it into sausage yesterday. It's in the smoke house as I am typing this. She now understands the saying" the work starts after you pull the trigger".
I asked her again today over Thanksgiving dinner if she wanted to go after another deer and she quickly replied no, No I don't not for a while
