Default Heaviest Deer You've Seen

These are the fattest bucks we've seen at our place in PA. The biggest one I ever shot was 236lbs. These guys are much bigger.

This is the heaviest deer I've ever seen. I killed this 300lb 8pt in Alberta.

Nice. Good news and bad news.

The bad news is the big six was shot by our neighbor. The good news is that the bigger 8-point is still alive

Biggest one I saw was weighed in right around 400 lbs. Unfortunately it was already dead at the time. Game Warden aged him at 14 years and he had 26 points. Came from a farm down the road from my parents. I guess he would have been some county record if he hadnt died of natural causes.

Who says the PA big woods can't grow big bucks????

Genetically, I think we can run with the best of them. Just let them get old and nature will take care of the rest.

The biggest buck I've ever seen was a huge mulie my grandfather shot in CO when I was about 10 which would have been about 1973. On that same trip my father took a run of the mill 3x3 mulie and if you didn't know better when they were hanging side by side you would swear one of them was a cow elk. The buck that my grandfather took had 6 pts on one side and 4 on the other. The outside spread was a little over 40".

He was so big that we actually took it in to be weighed which we had never done before. Field dressed, skinned with the lower legs cut off at the hocks he went 302 lbs on a certified farm scale. If he wasn't 400 on the hoof, he was damn close. I've still got the antlers off that buck in the barn on the old home place in CO. Someday I'll do a proper mount of them on a plaque. I've seen a lot of big mulies in my day but I've never seen on bigger than that buck. Truly a once in a lifetime deer.

The biggest bucks I've taken went 210lbs, and 207lbs field dressed.

The biggest buck I've seen on the hoof was 9 years ago... I didn't get him, but have no doubt that he was a 300lbs class animal. The first time I saw him was at about 1/2 mile. He was facing me, and when I first saw him he was so dark, and so wide that I thought he was a big black bear... I couldn't believe it when I glassed him and realized what he was. I managed to get a closer look, about a 1/4 mile a week later, he was huge.

That was the deer that prompted me to buy my 7mm RUM, and start reloading... I was carrying a 30/30 both times I saw him, so there was never a chance at a shot.

The Holstein in my one trail pic was at my buddy's tree stand. That was this October. My 82 year old dad says he's going to intercept that buck.

I'll be pumped if anyone in our camp gets him. Need to put him on the scale.
