The buck in that pic has 6 points, which really answers the original question, "is my buck a 6pt or an 8pt".

We did really run with this, but it's been fun.

To add to that, I could not check that buck in as an eight point in VA and not feel guilty about it.

Why not? The deer grew 8-points, didn't it? That would tell the biologists a more accurate story of what they have in their woods.

You know, as funny as this might sound, I was thinking about this particular thread and wondered if this isn't a good example of why our Government doesn't get anything done?

That's the idea. You don't want those bozos getting anything done. Checks and balances. The government that governs best, governs least.

First of all it would be illegal as the points must be at least an inch. Second, how do we know there were not more points? Could have been a 9 point for all we know.

Keep posting all your ridiculous comments and the thread may make 12 pages, LOL! When are you going to get it through your head that the tips of the beams do not have to be 1" in length to be scored as a point, which makes this deer an 8 pointer. Are you that dumb or just trying to add to your number of posts because the B&C rules for scoring are very clear regarding the OP question and you are turning this thread into a debacle!!!

Is the 1" rule for whitetail or all deer? We've always gone by the "hang a ring on it" way and call it good...
