deer bones for dogs

my 7 pound yorkie is chompimg on a leg bone as big as he is. The bone came from a ham roast and he's diggin it big time :-)

My 100 lab gets all the bones from my kills.. No ribs, no spinal, but pretty much all the others.

I boil the meat off them and give her the meat later in the year. Sometimes I leave the meat scraps on the bone and just bake it at 350 for an hour.. Freeze and store for all year treats.

Hope you got all the marrow out if he/she is an inside dog!

Amazing how rich that marrow is, you put 8oz of cool marrow in and get 28oz of hot 'marrow' out the other end.

My 6 lb dog will bite me if I try to take the bone back. It's like she has another mind-set once she has that bone, and I even try to touch her.

If you cook meat in a pan in my home, my lab won't leave you alone until you give her the pan to lick clean...

Go to bed and forget? Ya.. right.. You'll get zero sleep until you get up and put that pan on the floor..

She's like a food terrorist with her own watch list...
