Default What would you have done???

So I woke up this morning and turned on my phone. My buddy sent me this picture of a nice 9 point buck from 22 yards he let walk last night. When I asked him why..... simple he said, 14 point and up.

Me, I would have taken the shot when he lined up....

What would you have done?

I would have shot. 14 pt and up is a lofty goal, but to each their own.

I believe with a 14 and up rule he does not plan shooting or at least has a very slim chance. He might as well just take a camera

Youur buddy have any idea how rare a true 14 pt. is ???? Like chicken teeth !! And on free range ??

I have seen two that have had more than 11 points in my 50+ years of deer hunting ..... Al., N.C., Miss., Ark., Tenn., La. , Tx., Montana, and Florida. One 14 pt. and one - 19 pt. Your buddy is dreaming unless he's "high fencing" it in a very controlled set-up with both superb genetics and plenty of high quality feeding !!!

I would shoot at least 100 times out of 100. What state are we talking about here?

Absolutely no doubt about it.... zip, bang, boom! Your buddy is going to be waiting a long time for a 14+!

Wait for a 14 point here and it will never come. One would have a better chance for a 14 point kill by waiting for a single shot to go through 7 spike horns all standing perfectly in line.

14 point and up is like waiting for a freakin unicorn to come along.

A real goal is age class.

To answer your question...I would have sent a picture of that deer in the back of my truck.

I would have told my buddy that I had seen a 14 pointer near his stand just yesterday and that I wasn't hunting today because the arthritis in my trigger finger was acting up.

Then I'd have gone over to his house and fixed breakfast for his girlfriend while he was out there hunting a ghost.
