Got a picture of him at 1.5 and again at 2.5 years old. These pics are from his 2.5yo set. Didn't see him last year at 3.5 but we're hoping he shows up this year as a 4.5 year old freak. :D

What a cool buck this would be to bag and have mounted!

Here he is at 1.5yo.

FlDeerman 09-21-2013 02:26 PM

On our land he would be dead deer walking.LOL

BarnesX.308 09-21-2013 07:20 PM

He would have been down at 2.5 on our property too. But, the thought of him being 4.5 now.......that let's me daydream in the stand.

Real nice good luck getting him to ride in your truck and hanging on your wall. Real unique looking Buck.

BarnesX.308 09-25-2013 09:23 AM

Based on his antler growth from year 1.5 to 2.5, do you think he could be one of those freaks you see in the magazines at 4.5?

deernutz 09-25-2013 11:49 AM

Looks to me like he put on more then 40 inches of horn in one year. He definately does have the potential to by a whopper at 4.5..

BarnesX.308 09-25-2013 02:36 PM

And that excites me and will definitely keep me in the stand longer.

deernutz 09-26-2013 07:08 AM

Good luck hope you tag him!

BarnesX.308 09-26-2013 08:20 AM

You know the picture will be on here the same day. :D

Buckhunter46755 09-26-2013 10:56 AM

Good luck! Hope you get him. Very cool looking!

North22 09-26-2013 11:55 AM

Very cool. Love those bucks with character!

cdemarse 09-26-2013 05:54 PM

Nice! He'd have an arrow through him.

BarnesX.308 09-27-2013 02:56 AM

My biggest fascination with this buck is that he grew so much between his first set of antlers and his second. And he will be 4.5 this year. We've had a wet summer and everything has been green and lush up there. Last winter was mild compared to most. All the deer I've seen up there this year are fat and happy. He's really going to start showing his potential.

Did my thread just get spammed???

As I laid in bed this morning, I had a nice little half daydream, half asleep dream. I got this buck on Saturday. He grossed 218 and netted 205. I went down to the general store and everyone was gathered around my truck, in awe, as I enjoyed a pickled sausage and ice-cold Monster. :D

I found a dead 15 pointer that looked like that a few years ago. He scored around 160.

Hunt4Life23 09-28-2013 06:58 PM

Bet hes older than you thought he was!

Bet hes older than you thought he was!
We got the two sets of pictures in consecutive years. You think he's older than 1.5 in that daytime photo?

dEsireTohUnt 10-02-2013 09:57 AM

Awesome buck. Definetly post pics of him at 4.5 if you get em.

North22 10-03-2013 03:17 PM

IMHO, it's possible that he's 2 in that pic, but I think you're right. He's 1 1/2 in that earlier pic of him. He looks awfully young, and it's just my gut here, but the antlers also lead me to believe he's 1 1/2 then. Of course there are a ton of factors that effect antler growth. As I said, I think you're spot on though.

I read an article about a guy in Oklahoma that shot a 200" deer that was aged by two different biologists at 2 1/2... I think your 3 beamed beauty was just a big 1 1/2.

Im sure I speak for everyone when I say that we're all pulling for you to stick that guy!

BarnesX.308 10-03-2013 03:59 PM

He definitely looks like a 1.5 in the day time picture. The very next year, we got the two night time pics of him. We was behind the cabin for about an hour so we got to see every angle of him through the binos. Hard to see everything, basically, a mainframe 5X4 with an extra brow on the right side, a 3rd mainbeam that is basically a big spike and a brow on the left side that grows forward, in and forks like a caribou bez. He had 7 points at 1.5, then 12 points at 2.5.

The way he picked up so much bone between his first two sets of antlers, and the completely non-typical turn the rack is taking, leads me to think he could have really put on some major bone with his 4th set.

We've got pics of him out in completely overgrown clear cuts so seeing any deer is tough. But, there's always a chance that the next buck we see is him. The 1.5 picture was taken about 100-150 yards from my stand.
