Velvet is definitely deceiving. I would still stick with 160s on second thought, but he's probably not in the 170s. Mass can do a lot though one way or another depending on what he looks like without velvet.
As many have eluded to, he's a no brainer regardless of score.
As long as you don't make hunting all about the total inches a deer has, I do like to score deer. It's just kind of fun to share numbers and it gives a better picture of what somebody shot if you don't have a picture. A "big" 10 ptr to one person that scores 110 might not be as "big" to the next guy. I just don't get too carried away with it. Plus, One (of the many) reasons I enjoy hunting is to challenge myself, and putting a score on a deer helps to do that a little bit I suppose.

I rate my deer on a scale from not enough to enough... This one is bouncing off enough!
Seriously, I'd say he's flirting with 160". Hard to say until you see hard horn, but if he doesn't drop a lot of mass he's going to be upper 50's lower 60's IMO.
