whats the best deer scent to use in ohio during the rut

Since you didn't specify attractant or cover scent I'll address both.

Cover: tie a turpentine soaked rag to the laces of each of your boots. It smells like a pine tree and will cover your human scent.

Attractant: it's a little known fact that whitetail deer love peanuts. Keep a small jar of Peter Pan peanut butter in your pack and smear some on the base of a couple trees near your stand. Also toss in a couple slices of bread and you have lunch covered.
