What kind of potential do you think he has?

Looks like he's going to be a real nice 6 pointer, but his body size sure seems small. Maybe he's just a 2 1/2 year old buck that has some real potential in 2 or 3 years.

I agree....if it makes it another 2 or 3 years...usually they will get taken by someone if they are starting to look good!

I agree ... young buck with 6 points in velvet. I cannot see him any older than 2 1/2, but it is difficult to know for sure. Also, to say how he will look in 2-3 years is only a guess. With good food and good health, appears to me the rack should be fairly wide from now on.

I read a while ago that rack size when young doesn't necessarily correlate to rack size when old. I don't remember where. Anybody else ever come across this?

I read an article in Outdoor Life that stated that exact same thing. Rack size has to do with genetics and diet more than age.

He seems to have a lot of mass for a young deer. I also think he could fork and be an 8pt.
