Hunting GPS App

What is a better hunting App. Trimble GPS Hunt Pro or Hunting Ops Ultimate Hunting app. I was looking at getting a handheld gps unit but now with my new phone i am planning on saving the money and getting an hunting gps app for my phone. I am wondering which one works better with no phone service area. Because where I hunt there is not much phone service coverage.

Thanks,
Schooter

How long does the battery on your phone last? My GPS battery will go for weeks.

Good luck!

I don't use electronics when hunting.

just remember if you lose cell phone reception you are going to lose the gps. With a handheld I rarely lose my location. Either way carry a compass and map

***If that's the case, I'd buy a Garmin GPS. You can then buy an SD chip from huntinggpsmaps.com if you hunt any of the states they make chips for and you'll have landownership status besides topo information, etc.

Exactly. Plus, my gps will run on double A batteries, my phone always needs to be charged

True , but I'm still young enough to have a memory and the skills to find my way back. Who knows what the future brings. By then I may be so demented I can't even find my truck in the driveway to head out. :p
