food block
I just put a record rack food block out a couple of days ago. but now we r getting 18" of snow do you think the deer will still be able to find it?
Yep. Not a problem. However in my opinion you are wasting good $$$. THee so called "Rack Blocks" are over priced. A great mix that works just as well and is only a fraction of the cost is a mix of plain salt, dicalcium phjosphate and a high calcium "dairy" cattle supplement. You can get 50# of each for about $45 (150# total). Hand mix 1-1-1, and put it out 25#/spots.

no this is a FOOD block corn and grain etc.
My deer wont touch a food block. Or a salt block for that matter. Only thing Ive had luck with is the BB2 in the bags. That stuff they dig holes into the ground getting at.
oh the deer eat it after they find it here!!
I usually only put things like that out for the deer in the late spring/summer when their racks are really growing... In 18 inches of snow it's hard to say. I'm sure they'll know where it is, but don't know how much they'll be moving around. It'll still be there though

Tried one once(some one gave it to me)and all it did was rot.The deer never touched it.
I concure I've tried food blocks in the past and all they did was fall apart after months of the deer not touching them. Wouldn't waste my money.
The deer that trespass on my property love them!:happy0157: they will tear up a block in about 2 weeks down to nothing! I even had a moose come in as of lately!
Sorry I missed that it is a "food block". Not legal to ahve out during season here in Al. Never tried any.
