Default Snakes

Were helping the Hunter keep the rodent population in check.

Kudos for not killing them.

I may have not been as generous.

We had a big black snake come up our 16ft high permanent stand while getting it ready for the season. He was very similar to the one in the video. I was very surprised he came up that high.

More of a man than me snake would have had him a home. Plus he did not know what kind of snake until he cut the plastic.
I had a friend jump out of a boat and leave it on the lake because a snake feel into it while Carp hunting he hitchhiked back to the dock.
Same guy saw a snake skin in his basement and sold his house. Buy the way this guy had to weight over 270 and 6'4.
Oh I hate snakes also.

Took the wife with me in 08 to So. Texas on a hog hunt and was getting ready to walk into a box blind and heard a rattler inside the box just as we opened the door. 45 with birdshot took care of that. Wife did not come back out nor go on another hunt there with me again. We have black rat snakes at out deer camp which is an old corn crib. We open it up about a week before bow season and find up to 6 skins up on rafters that are 12-14 feet up in tha air. We have yet to see the snakes though. Has came up to some neat conversations after a day of hunting over barley pops by the woodburner.

All u have to do is go to store and get a bag of sulfur. My dad used to when he was doing something to his barn.

Love snakes, wouldn't mind them in my stand. Kind of annoying, though, as they get in the way. As long as they decide not to jump from a tree and land on my shoulder, I'm OK.

I would have just tossed them out of there and got comfortable.

Wow !

Last spring I posted on the turky forum this true tale ... short version. I had been sitting for about an hour or so at the edge of a food plot calling every now and then. I reached for my slate pot to call again and my hand hit something cold and slick !!! A long what we call a "Black Racer" shot across my right leg as it hauled a$$ off into the grass. I nearly needed clean underwear to say the least.
